Strad and I both live in South Minneapolis. I usually ride with him, but whether it's him or me driving you're welcome to ride along. Unless you have a pickup truck to help haul steel targets -- then I'll ride with you and chip in for gas.

As for the shoot itself, it's covered pretty exhaustively in other threads so I'll let you search, but basically you need any centerfire pistol, a holster, and a hundred to two hundred rounds of ammo depending on how much you miss.

Good point. It happens more than a guy might think.

Apparently a hit on the vertical support pole makes a scoring ding too. LOL

Sure, it'd be a pain to have arguments about whether that was a 'target ding' or a 'post ding', and it's not like it'd be an unfair advantage to deliberately aim at the post! :)

It occurs to me that if a guy wanted to be all tactical-real-world-training about it, you could think of it as: you were going for a head shot, but severing the spine is acceptable.

So July 18th is the revolver only steel shoot. What if any are the restrictions? I assume the 8 shot revolver will be on equal ground with the 6 shot revolver, same as a standard semi auto has to go against a comp'd and optic gun.

I was going to try an make it and shoot a 6" 686+, but I have no holster for it.

All NON-DESTRUCTIVE revolvers are invited, so your 686 should be fine. Talk to Sriggs for a holster....LOL

Oh, yeah, Cobb, if you saw Benny's 645 you'd know pretty much anything goes. Well, it is only a 6-shooter, but it's got, like, gyro stabilization and a ball-bearing moonclip feed ramp.

I thought the electric motor made it more a minigun than a revolver but I guess the cylinder does spin ... The targeting computer was a bit over the top though

So if Benny is talking about a S&W, he means a 625, a 645 is an old S&W semi auto.

You are correct. Um, we knew that, we just didn't want to point it out and embarrass him. Yeah, that's it.
