I'll be there unless it's storming. If no one else shows up we can just shoot some stuff!

I've got my eye on the weather, and will check back here early AM for updates regarding status on attendees, etc... if it's cancelled due to the weather I'd rather save the gas money for Coneys at the Effen Gopher !!

In any case, I've got the Glock 21 with 2 mags and a passable holster for the morning, plus 200 rounds of .45 ready to load in the truck.

Now, what's this "folks standing behind me with a timer and a buzzer" bullcrap? This being my first EVER steel shoot, if that's the case I have only TWO options:

1. Skip morning coffee before I drive out there

2. Drive myself to the hospital, park outside the ER door, shoot myself in the leg with the aforementioned Glock 21 and run screaming into the hospital

NOTES:

#1 is just - NOT... GONNA... HAPPEN. PERIOD.

#2 is just a timesaver for everyone else - You all are spared the sight of me writhing in pain and bleeding on everyone until the ambulance arrives (this of course assumes you'd call me one), and it saves me the agonizing ride back from Hutchinson. Agonizing for me for 2 reasons - I HATE being a passenger in ANY vehicle, and then there's that whole "ride in the back of an ambulance" thing. Yeah.

Being a n00b & all I don't know the drill for this. Will the ONLY shooters there be us or is this a public range with other shooters there?

Are other firearms permissable for afterwards if there's time? If so I'll throw a few rifles in for the ride... :D

From past experience, the 2 pistol ranges should be reserved for this event and only people involved in the steel shoot should be using them.

There may be other range members on the rifle ranges. But those are away from where we will be shooting.

As far as I know, only members of the Gopher range are suppose to use the facilites after the steel shoot is over. I don't think they allow guests. But I am not the authority on the issue. I am a member though ;-). They should be selling memberships at the steel shoot. I think it is $30 for the year. Might not be worth it for someone who is moving to Arizona very soon. :-)

Here is what the Gopher rules say on their website...

Anyone that is shooting at the range if over 18 years of age MUST be a member, it is everyone’s duty to ensure that all shooters are members, so ask them! If they aren’t members explain to them that they must be and they can pick up membership cards from any of the officers, the gun shop, or Schmeling Oil. If they refuse to leave just call the sheriff or one of the clubs’s officers and we will deal with the individual.

The hour by hour forecast for Hutch looks alot better now than it did last night. The cars loaded and I'll be heading out in an hour or so.
