First Wednesday Lunch Poll

Postby princewally on Fri Aug 21, 2009 10:15 am

Sechuan Star is out. Prices are kinda high, variety is kinda low.

New options:

Shantytown. No buffet but they have awesome burgers and service. They will rearrange seating and hold a table for us. $12 for a burger, tater tots and a pop.

98 pounds buffet. 98th and 35W. I've never been here. http://www.98poundsbuffet.com/

Red Moon Chinese Cafe - http://www.redmoonchinesecafe.com/eden- ... _Moon.html - $7 buffet - Eden Prarie Center-ish

Shantytown burgers are under $10, if you go chips and water instead of pop and tater tots. :)

Red moon is the cheapest, I think. IIRC, 98 pounds is about $10.

I'll set this up for wherever people decide they want to go. No problem. And we can always pick someplace else next month, if this month's choice doesn't work out.

I just tried the 98 pounds buffet for lunch on Wedensday, just over $10. A bit spendy for me for a regular lunch place.
Food was so/so. Nothing great for the price if you ask me.

Take that review for what its worth. ;-)

98 Pounds? Is that how much your plate weighs when you come back from the buffet? Sounds ominous.

But their flash animation is teh roxrz.

Their hot food is so so, wantons are god-awful , but they have the best buffet sushi around, if that's your thing....

If you're not into sushi, it's not worth the price.

How are Shantytown's prices?

Burger w/chips is about $9.

I got the cactus burger, tater-tots and pop for $11.25 when I went there. Tots are an upgrade. I didn't look much at anything on the menu other than burgers.

Red moon has coupons on their website for $1 off, so a $6.99 buffet becomes $5.99. Can't beat the price, but I've never eaten the food.

Shantytown sounds like a good place to try. I'll try it out regardless.

Funny on two different levels. A. Gotta be pretty hard up to eat chicken feet. B. Supporters of Pluralization need not apply.

Gotta be pretty hard up to eat chicken feet.

Partial to hog brains and scrambled eggs myself but the wife's family would fight over "footsies" especially right after butchering when they are fresh. Me, I know what those feet walked in

Not sure if it's the Bohemian or German half of her family but since I'm 3/4 German and won't touch em..............................

That plate looks just like em
