Are there any rules about what types of holster can be used? In particular, is a thigh mount ok (I think it is sometimes referred to as a tactical holster)?

Understand that I have no official standing, but I'm pretty sure that's fine as long as it holds the gun securely. These matches aren't sanctioned by any organization except Selurcspi & Chinakay, so the only equipment rules are safety-related, like no shoulder holsters 'cause of muzzle direction. If something gives you a significant advantage or disadvantage against the rest of us, it's naturally balanced by adjustments in the levels of bragging or excuse-making.

Well, as it stands now, if I can't find a ride or find a couple of riders to offset the gas expense I'm bowing out. I did a quick calculation and I'm looking at the shoot costing me $80 +/- with $30 of that being gas.

That shouldn't be necessary -- if both plblarks's & EAJugallo's cars are full, I can drive. My Saturn gets 30+ mpg. No AC, but we don't care about that. Yet.

Come with me in buffalo's truck, and I'll talk to your wife on the phone and say I'm the mechanic and the truck broke down as you were leaving at noon. Then we finish the Man v. Man, help clean up, and go into Hutch for beers until the truck is "fixed".
