Doesn't look like I'll make the first one this year... :( Probably just as well, since I haven't made enough ammo lately to cover my likely misses! :o

Steel Shoot Dates for 2013

I was loading ammo today. Hopefully I'll have enough. We'll see if power pistol shock and awe will scare the steel over.

Leaning toward going to either the USPSA class at Pine Island, or the Rice Creek Gun Fair. I was thinking about the MWCA show, but that's local, so I can go there on Sunday.

Would have been a great day to shoot, from about the knees up. I'm guessing the ranges would have been even more snowy and muddy after Thursday. Planning to make it next month. I have a new (to me) Raven holster to try out.

Can someone give me the address for the May Steel Shoot?
I know it's Sat the 18th, but I have never been to one and would like to try it.

How many rounds are suggested to bring? I have multiple G-17 mags and can bring up to 8 or so. I will most likely be coming alone because my wife will be out of town that weekend (home alone on my birthday) and I think I should be able to manage getting there and shooting.

Also, should I bring a cooler with water, lunch etc? How long does a shoot usually last?

Any details on what to bring for the day such as the above, or anything else will be greatly appreciated. I just want to assure I have EVERYTHING I will need for the day, amd not get surprised by not having it with me. :poundon:

Thanks everyone,

BD

I cant give you the address but, yes you should bring food and hydration. The 2 shoots i have been too have lasted till around 430-5ish but that is with doing the man v man. As for round count. 200-250.

Bring sunscreen and a comfy chair too.

4 stages, 5 targets each (possibly a bonus target on a couple), 4 runs at each stage. Call it 96 minimum. Man v man is 4 targets each, 5 or 6 runs so 24 more minimum. Call it minimum 120 rounds total if you don't miss. I'd bring 250 just in case.
