yeah, I started the day out pretty well (for how well I normally start out), but I think that the heat really got to me, by the end of the day I couldn't get on target. that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

I'll take it....

First time ever doing something like this....(I have shot leo qual courses in training, but never an IDPA type steel event). Also the first time I have shot of any significance in over 2 years.

Thanks a lot Benny and China, It was a good time, as always. It was also great to meet so many new people. I wish I could have stayed for the man vs man.

Needed for next time:

Plus p's, not the marshmallow .38s i was shooting. I heard the groans of the crowd when i hit the final popper more than once, and the sucker wouldn't go down.

Better aim, so the aforementioned won't be a problem

More water and my sun canopy-we were huddled under the one 45 Badger brought like a bunch of refugees coming over to Key West in that heat yesterday.

I had a great time, thanks to everyone, from Benny and China on down who helped out. I had one run where i was smokin fast out of sixteen; maybe next time that'll be two or three :)

Thanks to Benny and China, I had a great time. I decided to bring a long my FNP-9 which I had not shot in over a year. I was reminded again why I like it so much! I decided to bail on the Man v. Man due to the heat!

Thanks Benny and China! You were able to accomodate the experienced as well as the new shooters. You both, at different times, gave me feedback about what I can work on next to improve. And did it with a smile. :)

Thanks to Mike (Squad 2 RO) for steady and consistent performance in the heat of the day. And for taking on Squad 1 RO in addition to Squad 2 when China was called away. You kept things running like clockwork. 8-)

And thanks to all who pitched in to help. Steel shoots are indeed a volunteer sport. Setup, takedown, RO, medic, trainer, etc...

Last month it was cold and raining. This month was hot and humid. Next month should be perfect weather. Right, that's my story and I'm sticking with it.
