Family Fun Picnic, Sept 25, 4pm

Postby plblark on Fri Sep 10, 2010 1:45 pm

Since the July 4th picnic was successful except for the last minute nature of the planning and the holiday weekend, it's time to plan another one.

So, let's plan for another picnic organized specifically to include our families.

When: Saturday Sept 25, 2010 4pm until people leave
Where: casa de Plblark (Roseville near Rosedale. PM Plblark for address and to RSVP)
What to bring: meat and beverages for your family and an item to share. (Basically, this is a Bring Your Own Picnic with a pot luck side thrown in :-))
I'm providing rudimentary S'Mores supplies
If there's outdoor fun gear you want to bring, that's cool and we could probably make it work :-) ( frisbee, ball, gloves, etc)

Who: you and your SO and or kids. IF you can't convince them to come, you're still welcome. But tell them there will be other long suffering SO's there to commiserate with and drag them along :-)

As this is a family event and different people have chosen ways to expose their kids to carry, treat it as a discreet carry event like the North Side Breakfasts. No one is going to freak either way but it's not the OCB either. This is not a show and tell event. We can use the garage if you need a controlled place and safe direction to show clear and safely compare your gear :-)

Amenities on site:
Huge playground (swings, slides, monkey bars, sand box, trap door, etc)
Zip Line (175# weight limit guys :-))
Badminton net and gear
Croquet set
Frisbees
Bonfire Ring
Room to roam and play
Propane Grill of medium size
a couple coolers

Please PM me to RSVP with number attending.

This thread is about a family picnic, not the biggest douche bag award. Try to keep up.

Are we going to stay up until 3am launching 2" mortars, throwing tennis balls filled with gasoline on the fire and shooting flaming arrows blindly off into the distance again?

That was fun.

The 3am part is fine. As to the rest, Not all of those happened and my wife has sharpened her sleep to cell phone "What the HELL are you doing out there" skills so we should keep the ruckus and mayhem to a controlled level :-)

Just a reminder since the time is getting near. Basically, this is a Bring Your Own Picnic with a pot luck side thrown in. Probably a good idea to bring a couple lawn chairs as well ;-)

You could make a Gun Themed Culinary and Social day of it and hit both the Effen Gopher Gathering in the morning, some fun stuff in between (Oakdale Gun Club is open all day and isn't too far East of the Gopher) and then come to the Picnic.
