I might go as well. I am sure my wife wants to go also. Is this a nice one to attend? She wants to fondle I mean handle as many small, heavier revolvers as she can. She is now in the market for one to carry thanks to ttousi(not a 643 airlight though...;)).

Definitely the Anoka Ice Arena show, because that's not too far from where I live.

But here's my usual rant about the two MWCA downtown shows:

I HATE PAYING OUTRAGEOUS FEES FOR PARKING THAT IS NOT THAT COVENIENT IN THE FIRST PLACE.

I used to belong, but realized that I actually save money by just going to the MWCA shows that have free parking. I think the cities are slowly killing themselves by being so hostile to cars.

Weekend of the 17th. Wasn't sure of the exact dates but I saw it was that weekend. I just checked MWCA's website and it's the 18th and 19th, Sat. and Sun.

Any idea what time the doors open at Anoka.

Does Crocodile post there shows? I know MWCA does and I no longer attend those.

onebohemian and I had a good time at the gun show in Anoka. Since we weren't finding much worth buying, we decided to have some fun. The Hi-Point table was prime troll bait since they sold, well, overpriced Hi-Points (then again, they're overpriced at any price) and, oh yeah, CONCEALED CARRY BADGES. It went something like this:

Me: [gesturing toward a shiny concealed carry badge] "How much you gettin' for those?"

Junk dealer: "$60 for these and $120 for those."

Me: "Wow!"

Junk dealer: "Cheaper than you thought, huh?"

Me: "Yeah, that's a small price to pay for letting people know you mean business. Do I need a carry permit to buy one?"

Junk dealer: "Nope, anyone can buy them."

Me: [examining one of the ridiculous badges] "So do you flash this before or after shooting someone?"

onebohemian: [holding back laughter]

Junk dealer: "...You should get one. They really work. People drive up from Iowa to buy them."

Me: [totally blowing my cover] "But Iowa is a may-issue state."

I was planning to move on to a discussion about how Hi-Points are some of the finest weapons available, but I was bored so we moved on. The guy was offering a free $15 knife with any firearm purchase. His prices were only about $100 over MSRP. We really blew it!
