Wells gun show?

Postby wildfan1 on Thu Feb 28, 2013 8:09 am

Never been before, and going this year. I hear great things about it. Wondering, from those of you that have been there before....are there usually vendors of safes there? I am in the market for a new safe, and hoping I might run into a "show special" there. I will have the $ tomorrow, and if there aren't any decent vendors there I might just go get one this weekend. Any feedback is appreciated.

one or two, but not a lot of selection. Stop and say hi, I will have a table somewhere in the maze of hallways. Oh and come hungry, homemade turkey commercial sandwichs and homemade pie!

Is there handicap access for this one? I've heard it isn't disability friendly but one can hope

Oh well, my wife wouldn't want to go any way. Being disabled, makes me have to rely on her more than I care to.

Wait for the show at the State Fair grounds in a few weeks, much easier access.

+1000 !

I believe they've had a beef commercial, as well. Awesome food.

We're going Sunday, I think.

316 tables all sold out, walking around tonight as people were setting up looks like lots of good stuff to be had. Anyone coming stop and say hi - my table is in the main gym. Right by the guys selling tannerite.

Sorry I missed you Doug. I looked, but what a zoo!

Not impressed with my first trip to the vaunted Wells gun show. Clearly the vast majority of the sellers were hoping to capitalize on the frenzy. Most .223 was $1/round, even steel cased..22 LR bulk packed federal boxes for $45/525 rounds. DPMS A2 for $1600. FNX .40 at one table for $899, and another table for $ 599. Pretty crazy prices.

Worst part by far is that the Wells "gun" show was MAYBE 30% guns, 20% ammo, and 50% coins, sportscards, antiques, knives, and non-gun JUNK! Long three hour drive for a garbage show. State fair next weekend will be 100x better.

I think that was my first and last trip to the Wells gun show... Brought a buddy of mine with so at least I had good company.

Saw 1 table with 10/22 magazines, 10 rounder $30, 25 round BX-25, $75 - I laughed and walked away.

Ended up walking out with 2 ammo cans, best part of the trip was the meat shop in Ellendale.

Wells gun show?

I got to ask: What did you guys expect, price-wise?
Any pre-panic/ frenzy prices would have caused a .... frenzy
As to a lot of gun show merchandise:
While there are some good vendors at some shows, it seems like I've been looking at the some of the same unsellable cheapcrap for 25 years.

I was expecting high prices but a buck a round for cheap steel cased wolf 223 that's insane. But overall the prices were a little high but not unexpected I guess I would say. Much more frustrating was that the whole thing was more like 1 large rummage sale than a gun show

I did however get a good price on a Stoeger 20 gauge over under on the way home at the frontietsman. Great bunch of guys working there and a nice place. I haven't been in there in probably 30 years. But thanks to herb I will be going back much sooner this time
