Rochester MWCA show - Jan. 18-19

Postby 2in2out on Wed Jan 15, 2014 11:35 pm

Anybody planning to go to the Mayo Civic Center this weekend?

I'm on call for work, but should be able to slide over to check it out.

I haven't been to this one - but generally these shows are indeed worth $5 to attend

So you're saying the Rochester shows have more variety and different vendors (to some extent) than the St. Paul shows?? The last two at the Coliseium and the River center were so same ol' same ol' that it was really a disappointment.

I don't know that I said anything to that affect..... I simply said the MWCA show were the best in the state.... and I expect there will be some different venders in Rochester .... but as a whole the MWCA is a member group ... they allow non - members to exhibit

I'll probably go. Haven't bought much at gun shows for a while but I still go for the chance to see something new or old or different. I guess as a gun enthusiast it's pretty cheap entertainment. I like the opportunity to handle such a wide variety of guns without having to ask someone to pull it out of a glass case!

Saturday report: EXCELLENT coverage by GOCRA and the MN GOPAC, thank you for being there! Left a little something in each donation jar after forgetting both my challenge coin at home.

Attendance seemed a little light before lunch, but I suspect that was due to the snow. The Mustang wasn't leaving the garage this morning until I cleaned up the pile of snow at the end of the driveway, and I was a little later to the show than planned.

Anybody stop by to talk with the damascus knife dealer? He makes his own blades… very nice knives, and quite a gentleman to talk with.

Didn't see a single retail box of .380 anywhere, or did I miss it? No bricks of .22LR, either.

Came home with a new duo-tone Bersa, thanks to Thunder John. Good thing I have ammo already.

Sat paid attendance was around 1500. Sun about 700. Plus members that don't pay to get in.
The snow kept it down a bit, but it was a good day.
Nice to see so many familiar faces! Lots of city guys made it down too.
Thanks Bob!
