Second-Saturday North Breakfast: New Location

Postby xd ED on Sat Mar 01, 2014 10:25 am

This month The Second Saturday North Breakfast moves to a new location:

We'll be meeting at

Perkins Restaurant & Bakery,
2009 East County Road D

located just south of I-694, east of White Bear Ave, on the north side of County Rd D.

We have reserved seating, in the semi-private back room.
Show up about 0900 and the hostess will escort you to our tables.
There should be seating for 12 - 20 people.

Forum members from across the boards, and guests are welcome to attend.

New forum members especially are welcome to join your online colleagues for coffee, breakfast, InSites on shooting, and more good conversation.

This will be an excellent opportunity for like minded folks to gather to boast of their exploits in the field, and at the range; reflect on the political machinations of the day, ammo prices and availability, discuss current events in the local gun community, or whatever else is on your mind.

Hope to see you there.

Thanks Ed. I wish I could be there, but I've got another commitment on Saturday. I hope there is a good turnout.

Maybe next month, I'll be out of town.

Glad to see the change though.

I'll be there for this one

A timely question.

I just returned from the North St Paul Perkins, and got what appears to be a better arrangement from them. So it will be just a bit south of the area we've been at previously. (This one is near Aldrich Arena).

I'll have full details later

Yep. Saw that. It's happened before.

I suspect the distance between North St Paul(this month's location), and Rogers will help folks decide which, if either event to attend.

I had to look that up

I hope everyone realizes neither event schedule is new. Both groups have been doing this a long time...why the need to compete is beyond me. I'd say there is room for a whole bunch of 2nd sat events.

That's all, I am not going to pee on anyone's campfire. Just wish when we all have a common goal we didn't have to argue each other over who deserves a specific date.

Just a thought.....

But I am of the opine that both hosts could have discussed this and come to the conclusion of:

"Hey, this would be great to combine and have one breakfast and bring the two groups together in one place and share a range event as well."

But what do I know.

This forum's group has been meeting in roughly the same place for over a decade.

Then there's another 2nd Saturday group that only visits openly pro-2A establishments, thus supporting those businesses in our community and making it's way around the metro to spread the pain of a long commute to everyone in the group rather than keeping it 20 miles away for some and 5 for others.

So yes, there's a distinct difference between events. One doesn't step on the other's toes if you consider things beyond the day of the month they're held.
