Toys For Tots toy delivery and Potluck at Area 52

Postby Stradawhovious on Wed Nov 19, 2008 1:46 pm

I have noticed that thinkgs have gotten a little heated in some of the threads lately (yes, I know i'm part of that, but gish durnit it's fun :D ) so I though i would give us something fun to look forward to. As many of you know there is a Toys for Tots drive going right now, and we are getting close to the December 1st donation deadline. David Slam has been nice enough to offer his establishment, Area 52, up for us to use for a holiday gathering, and to celebrate a successful T4T drive. Above are some options for this get together, so please weigh in if this sounds like fun for you. If you did not contribute to the T4T, you are still welcome at this event.

If any of you have any ideas as to how to make this better, please PM, or post as it would be nice if this was an event for everyone...

David, if for some reason this date does not work, please let me know. It did not appear on your list of unavailable dates.
Thanks

Area 52.... Sorry. I believe it's in northeast mpls, we'll have to have David Slam substantiate that.

For those of you with kids that would be interested in shopping for the T4T donation toys, please PM me with your location, and number of kids so I know where we can all meet that would be a central location, and how much each child would have to spend on a toy(s). Thanks!

Also, depending on timeframe, I'm not sure that there would be enough time in one day for the shopping, dropoff, and potluck so we may have to consider a different day for the shopping spree.

I'd sign my kids up for the shopping, but I think I'd have a hard time explaning to the 4yo that she can't keep what she picks out. She's a bit rough that way. Tara drew another picture for you, by the way.

That's why I'm only bringing the 9yo. The 2yo and the 5mo are too young to get it.

Bump........... Anyone else interested? It would be nice to get a count so that we can figure out if a potluck is a doable idea...... Also, it would be nice to have some more kids for shopping...........

Anyone? Buller? Buller?

But seriously, let me know who's coming, and what you would potentially like to bring to a potluck! I will update with totals and food.

Please remember thatwe need more kids for shopping, so if you aren't doing much durng the day, and your child would understand the concept f shopping for Toys for Tots, get them involved!! You needn't have donated to take part in any of this, its just a nice way to get into the Holiday mood.

I have to work until about 6pm on the 13th.

About what time is the potluck?
And more importantly, well, for me anyway-after 9 hours of students that day, will there also be any "Christmas Spirits" flowing
