On October 7, Keegan Iversen was critically injured in a motorcycle accident in Fort Worth, TX. In the accident he suffered multiple injuries; fractured vertebrae in his neck and back. Broken collarbone, shoulder and ribs, bruised lungs and kidneys; and lacerations of the liver and spleen. He received stitches for lacerations of his face and he suffered a traumatic brain injury. He was recovering at Kindred Hospital in Fort Worth. Since the date of his accident he has been in Intensive Care. But on November 19th he was moved to Baylor University Medical Brain Trauma Center in Dallas. His progress is slow and he remains in a semi-conscious state.
He enlisted in the MN Air National Guard stationed out of Fort Snelling a few years out of HS. After completing his basic training he went on to various tech schools and become a meteorologist. In 2008-2009 he was called up to serve in Iraq at Balad where he forecasted weather for the pilots flying in and out on missions. A few years later, it was time to serve his country again and went back to Iraq as a civilian contractor, as a (Combat weatherman) meteorologist. His mission was to assist MediVac in bringing wounded soldiers home. Keegan served as Honor Guard at every opportunity and as Chaplain of Buffalo American Legion Post 270. In addition to his service in the military, he has also volunteering for missions at his church, running for political office, and in many other ways. He worked for habitat for humanity and went to New Orleans to help rebuild after Katrina.
