Gun Owners Rally @ The Capitol April 28th, 2018

I'll be up at Elk River Sportsman's Club for an F-Class wind clinic all day Saturday.

Is there a hashtag or some other social media thingamajig if we all pose for a picture, or something? I'm not on any social media, but I'm sure someone there will be savvy, and I'm sure we'd all like to give our support in spirit.

Maybe someone has an extra banner that they won't be taking to the capitol?

Yeah, Ted would get headlines. It’d be nice to see him again but he can easily bring up bad press from some of the poorly thought out choices he’s made in the past. Dana isn’t a board member.

Tom Selleck, R Lee Ermey or Karl Malone would be good. Could be Grover.

Was just reading some comments from people on the MNGOC Facebook page. I’m not at all excited to see the tacticool asshats that are going to show up. But guess need to respect that there is a broad range of opinions on best approach to demonstrating one’s rights. I’m not an open carry guy and will be carrying concealed. But I respect the right for others to open carry if that’s what they choose. But I do think that showing up with the proverbial “evil black rifle” and dressed like a mercenary operator is counterproductive and will be the sole focus of the media. And frankly, I know people who won’t come to the rally specifically because of this.

What I’ve said is that if there comes a day I need to carry a rifle at the capitol we’ve got bigger issues than a rally can hope to solve. The best thing we can do is show up in numbers, look like “normal” people, and stop this insane anti-civil-rights push. The left has pushed emotional adolescents out front as their representatives against us. Let’s not counter that by looking like some pissed off rednecks looking for a fight. Optics matter. This is a persuasion game. Carry concealed.

Agreed.

It wouldn't matter if there are 10,000 guys in suits, the TV cameras will be focusing on the guy with the slung AR or the one that looks grubby enough to have been kicked out of the Sons of Anarchy for smelling too bad.
