There's a lot there I would not otherwise be aware of. But MAN is it slanted and presented strongly.....

The article about firemen being able to have a beer in the firehouse threw me. That's SOP, at least in small town fire houses.

I don’t really get all this fascination with the cops thing. I’m really not surprised that if you look at a very large group of people from all different countries that there are problems. So really what is being pointed out is that cops are people too? Wow who would have thought that there is injustice in this world? Get over it folks life isn’t fair.

Generally, I don't think it's a problem that cops are people. I think the problem stems from the fact that cops are "special" people, with extra authority, but, all too often, no extra responsibility or accountability. Yes, cops are people and people screw up. It's the "blue wall" preventing the law from being applied to the law enforcers that causes hard feelings.

Personally, I would rather read this one:

Civilian Gun Self-Defense

Example:
AVONDALE, La. -- A would-be robber was shot to death in Avondale, and authorities said he apparently died at the hands of his intended victims -- a man and a boy who wrestled away his 9 mm semiautomatic handgun.

Jefferson Parish Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of gunfire Monday night and found a man lying dead in the middle of an Avondale street.

Detectives believe the dead man had tried to rob the two other people just outside or inside a nearby house.

He was shot at least once and staggered into the street.

:D
