Hennepin County Sheriff talks to KARE-11 about bridge collapse DVD tonight at 10

Hennepin County Sheriff Rich Stanek is responding tonight to a Star Tribune article questioning the purpose of a video featuring his role in August's 35W Bridge Collapse.

The DVD is billed as a training video, but some public officials say it instead promotes Stanek.

County commissioner Mike Opat tells KARE 11 he finds the DVD "questionable."

And commissioner Penny Steele told the newspaper she doesn't understand the video's purpose.

Commissioner Mark Stenglein says, however, he sees its benefits.

The DVD was paid for with $30,000 of taxpayer money.

Stanek is talking about the video with KARE 11, and we'll have more on this story tonight at 10.

$30,000 should bring a whole helluva lot of "benefits". I don't see where it was truly necessary, but maybe I'm missing something?? It's just more of our government run amok because they have access to our wallets (or purses for the women)
