Utter BS. They aren't tricky to fight, so I would never have said that. They are, however, time-consuming. "Wayy expensive" is both poor spelling and relative. Lawyers have nothing to sell but their time, and I am comfortable that my fees are reasonable.

That's easy for you to say. I am assuming you don't go to work for free just because you like what you do or consider it worthwhile.

Besides your fees, have you ever had a denial you weren't able to collect your fees along with the court costs from the city/county that denied the permit?

Only when the permit has been denied by the court. I have had to fight for the fees in some instances, but have never been turned down when the permit has been ordered granted.

Firearms cost money, bullets cost money, taking a class for a permit costs money, applying for a permit costs money, lawyers cost money. If you were denied the permit illegally the city will eat the court & lawyer costs as specified by state law. If you believe you're in the right get a lawyer and see what happens...

Does anyone here know approximately how much it costs on average for a denial appeal on a permit to carry?

$3000-$5000 depending on how much it gets hashed around and who's doing the hashing.

And I spelt "wayy" on purpose as in wayyyy expensive. Thats a lawyer twisting things. And IT DID sound more like car salesman B.S. trying to get money from someone who they thought was desperate enough to pay what they want. I know what I didnt hear is "We have a case, we can win this." Which is what should have been said.

Because it's against court rules for a lawyer to tell you that you can/will win.

But they can say "we have something here." Or maybe "dont worry about things."

I have a great idea: Waive the attorney-client privilege and we can discuss what really happened. Otherwise, quit making assertions that are simply not true.

And by the way, it's "spelled," not "spelt."

Nah, I try to focus on the stain protection for the seats and carpets. ;-)

Even though I have a permit to carry, after spending a few hundred dollars just for a law firm to write a single page letter...a few grand to fight a denial for a permit to carry a pistol doesn't seem too bad, especially if that cost is recoverable!
