Rothman posted on FB that Senator Warren Limmer (DFL), who schedules these things for the judiciary committee, says he just can't seem to find the time for the committee to hear SF1357.

According to a magazine article, Heidi Collins worked for CNN for a number of years and refused to toe their party line. Finally she gave up and came home to Minnesota.

If you google her +Fox 9 most of the hits are trash jobs for giving Mark Ritchie a hard time about ACORN.

Some intelligence and objectivity on the part of the reporter/ moderator goes a long way in knocking down the typical sensationalized rhetoric. This was actually watchable without bp issues.
The real kicker for us is a track record quite contrary to what the anti-s did, and continue to suggest would happen, and Andrew did well to mention that point.

I can't help but wonder about the purpose of the backgrounds seen behind Messrs. Backstrom and Rothman. Both were similar to their clothing, and tended to camouflage them a bit.

If I may make a suggestion for the next televised appearance that someone makes though... wear a suit. It adds credibility. I've always said drugs would be legal today if the patchouli-smelling hippies ever learned to cut their hair and put on a coat and tie.

I can say for sure that the backgrounds just were unfortunate coincidence. The locations are static, and chosen before I walked in; they didn't know what I would be wearing.

That said, now I know to ask next time, and dress for the studio colors. Oh, the life of a celebrity. ;)

Andrew, Notice that on TV, most of the "experts" are shown wearing a suit, it adds authority in the minds of viewers, just like Dr,s on TV wear scrubs or lab coats, its all about projecting an image. It matters not a whit if the average joe wears a suit, to many, its the uniform of authority. The Boss wears a suit, the Company Owner wears a suit, etc, its the position of authority that a suit commands. Particularly when dealing with law or politics.

PLease note, as well, Mn seems to be one of the few places in my experience where suits are not widespread daily wear for business. I bet Deaner wears one, but I am amazed at even Funerals here wear people don't wear a suit. Or at least a jacket.

You could go with a lighter colored polo and sport coat as a compromise.
