I think that those vowing not to vote for or support McCain, or alternately voting for a democrat or writing in a third party just to "teach them a lesson" all seem to remind me of stupid knife-fighters that thinks that it's ok take a cut to deliver a fatal cut to your opponent...regardless of the fact that the cut YOU take will probably kill you as well, just later.............................
The choice of voting or not voting is an individual issue and I'm not trying to change anyone's mind. I'll try to explain, why I intend to vote for Senator McCain, even if he is not my choice or ideal.
First, throughout my life, I've agreeably compromised for the good of the unit; e.g., family, military, state, Country. Sometimes, I've lost and othertimes I've won! I just don't see any "Winning" for our Great Country in Republicans "Losing" the Presidency to "Team Clinton" or Senator Obama.
Point: Senators Clinton and Obama will withdraw our forces from Iraq based on an arbitrary timetable for the sake of political expediency.
- Senator McCain intends to win the war!
Point: Senators Clinton and Obama will appoint SCOTUS and numbers of federal judges who hold the intent of achieving "political change" from the bench versus the political vote.
- Senator McCain intends to appoint judges who can be trusted to enforce -- not make -- the law.
Point: Senators Clinton and Obama will raise your taxes!
- Senator McCain intends to cut them.
Senator McCain has "publicly" announced is intentions to do what I've mentioned above! To gain more votes from the Republican base-voters; he'll have to make "more promises" to do what the majority of the Republican base-voters want him to do. He's smart enough to move to that "center!"
Of course, once in office, there's no guarentee that Senator McCain will keep his promises.
I've heard Senator Clinton's promises and I've heard Senator Obama's - - and, I don't like their promises. Neither, do I place trust "IN THEIR ABILITY" to wisely deal with the "unexpected" decisions that our President must stare down!
McCain may have some liberal positions, but he is not a liberal. He is a conservative with some liberal positions. But on life, taxes, and national defense, his record is, in fact, very strong.
On the basis of "Future Trustworthiness;" of the three Candidates; McCain doesn't win, but gets my vote, and I seriously believe that a vote for him would be in the best interest of our Great Country and my family!
Just my thoughts!
