I think that those vowing not to vote for or support McCain, or alternately voting for a democrat or writing in a third party just to "teach them a lesson" all seem to remind me of stupid knife-fighters that thinks that it's ok take a cut to deliver a fatal cut to your opponent...regardless of the fact that the cut YOU take will probably kill you as well, just later.............................

The choice of voting or not voting is an individual issue and I'm not trying to change anyone's mind. I'll try to explain, why I intend to vote for Senator McCain, even if he is not my choice or ideal.

First, throughout my life, I've agreeably compromised for the good of the unit; e.g., family, military, state, Country. Sometimes, I've lost and othertimes I've won! I just don't see any "Winning" for our Great Country in Republicans "Losing" the Presidency to "Team Clinton" or Senator Obama.

Point: Senators Clinton and Obama will withdraw our forces from Iraq based on an arbitrary timetable for the sake of political expediency.

- Senator McCain intends to win the war!

Point: Senators Clinton and Obama will appoint SCOTUS and numbers of federal judges who hold the intent of achieving "political change" from the bench versus the political vote.

- Senator McCain intends to appoint judges who can be trusted to enforce -- not make -- the law.

Point: Senators Clinton and Obama will raise your taxes!

- Senator McCain intends to cut them.

Senator McCain has "publicly" announced is intentions to do what I've mentioned above! To gain more votes from the Republican base-voters; he'll have to make "more promises" to do what the majority of the Republican base-voters want him to do. He's smart enough to move to that "center!"

Of course, once in office, there's no guarentee that Senator McCain will keep his promises.

I've heard Senator Clinton's promises and I've heard Senator Obama's - - and, I don't like their promises. Neither, do I place trust "IN THEIR ABILITY" to wisely deal with the "unexpected" decisions that our President must stare down!

McCain may have some liberal positions, but he is not a liberal. He is a conservative with some liberal positions. But on life, taxes, and national defense, his record is, in fact, very strong.

On the basis of "Future Trustworthiness;" of the three Candidates; McCain doesn't win, but gets my vote, and I seriously believe that a vote for him would be in the best interest of our Great Country and my family!

Just my thoughts!
All men are created equal....It's what they do from there that matters!.

Gee, if only there were some life experience McCain could point to, to show that he could stand up to four years of the strain of office...

McCain is a RINO! Look at the legislation he has sponsored in the last few years. Not too mention the whole Gang of 14 thing.

McCain Feingold = http://www.nationalcenter.org/McCainFeingold.html
One of the biggest assaults on free speech in history!

McCain Edwards = http://www.shusterman.com/cgi-bin/ex-li ... 109:S.1033:
Amnesty for illegal immigrants not undocumented workers or any other touchy feely way to say it. They are illegal! If the first thing you do is break the law when you come here, you are a criminal. I know, I know, Reagan gave amnesty first, but I think we all know the definition of insanity!

McCain Lieberman = http://www.pewclimate.org/policy_center ... ummary.cfm
If you don’t think that making unilateral decisions like this. That will cut Billions of Dollars out of our GDP amounts to a de facto tax increase, well we will have to a agree to disagree. We have already seen prices on some food products double in the last few years, thanks to an inefficient source of fuel, that know the environmentalists are saying is actually hurting the planet. http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5gG6R ... AD8ULPD0G0  The problem is that there are too many Pols that are willing to jump on the bandwagon and he is one of them!

As far as McCain on SCOTUS do people really think he is going to appoint Strict Constitutionalist Judges that every well could and should overturn some of his signature pieces of legislation? I for one don’t.

To me his only redeeming quality is his stance on the war, but both Billary and Hussein know that they can not just go in and pull out the Troops. They have both said that they didn’t think they would have them out by the end of their first term.

I got “slow rolled” by one RINO in the near past! Fool me once shame on you, but fool me twice shame on me.

Just look at the turnout for the caucuses this State is a blue state. I am going to vote for someone I think should be president and not just someone because of my party affiliation. About the best we can hope for now is to get good people elected to the Senate and House and hope for a dead lock. Also remember how important State and Local races are and PLEASE, PLEASE vote in non Presidential elections, too many people only get involved every four years. These people need to be watched all the time!

Just my $0.02.

BG

P.S. I am in no way not saying he is a National Hero or a Patriot. But one of the reasons he spent time in that hell hole was so that we would have the right to disagree. For that I am eternally grateful to the man. God bless him and this great Country of ours!

An earlier reply posted Condi for VP how about if this had been done right, it should have been Colin and Condi. who could win against that? War hero and the genius. No matter what the color of the skin the facts would require you to vote for it.

Unfortunately for us as Country, the best choices often choose to not run.

McCain?

I will help those many liberal MNGun Talk members save themselves from a mistake and I will vote Republican to have a more friendly 2nd Amendment SCOTUS judges appointed. Anybody that believes Obama or Hillary will support you Bill of Rights are delusional.

I'm not disagreeing that any of the possible choices other than McCain are very bad for 2nd ammendment and lots of other issues. All I'm saying is; when was the last time MN voted for a Republican for President? We can all vote for McCain and I still think Minnesota's electoral votes will go Dem. I hope I'm wrong and will continue to follow this closely. AS important if not more, are the senate and house races. At this time, I feel like I have not representation in either house with Coleman, Klobuchar and McCollum as my representatives. And yes I do vote and I do write all of them often as well as my state representatives.

So half the conservative Republicans do exactly that, hold their nose and votes for McCain and he wins. What kind of message does that send to those liberal, left leaning RINO's? Maybe that there is no real conservative base and their guy that advocates no real boarder control, but is for more gun control just won the presidential election with this platform. Well guys, just wait until you see the next Republican president candidate in 2016.

I am not going to do a slow roll, I'm am writing in the name of my conservative president candidate, because I need to.
