26 votes? I'm sure some of us are planning on voting for someone else multiple times!

How in creation does staying home equal a vote for Obama?

He'll get millions of votes!

Unless Romney gets millions + 1 (or more), osama will remain *resident another 4yr!

If you're ok with that, ya can jest stay home!

If you're not ok with that, there's only one thing ya can do to attempt to change it!

Same as in '08! ... would-be GOP voters stayed home in DROVES!!! ... osama became *resident as a direct result! Image

I'm no expert, but as I understand it, at least in MN, winner (by popular vote) takes 100% of MN's electoral votes!

Ya got somethin' to contradict that?! :|

Well, that is not what you said. You said if he gets millions plus 1 vote period, he wins.

Since we are now talking about MN only, I would suspect if he gets millions plus 1 it would not result in a win in MN but in a recount and a follow up lawsuite.

Probably not, since our electoral votes probably won't be the difference in the race.

Well, that is not what you said. You said if he gets millions plus 1 vote period, he wins.

I presumed everyone was well aware of the fact that, with various states allocated various numbers of electoral votes, it is possible (and has happened) that the winner can actually receive less of the (national) popular vote!

I'm 100% unaware as how that information might be leveraged into a successful strategy ... other than attempting to win the popular vote?!

IOW, as of yet, the single best strategy to win the election is to win the popular vote, IN EACH STATE, as to receive that state's electoral votes!

IOW, state by state, if Romney receives millions + 1 (or more) votes, he will win that state! ... if he wins enough electoral votes from said states, he will win the Presidency! :yippee:

IOW, attempting to lose the popular vote of any one particular state would most likely not improve a candidate's chances! :ugeek:
