The thing is i'm not on the left. I'm smack dab in the middle. Or at least I used to be, till the right went off into the western horizon.
I actually voted for Dole in 96, and W in 2000. Then I watched a completely Republican federal govt cut taxes with no corresponding spending cuts, pass a plan to give free drugs to seniors with no plan to pay for it, send tax refund checks to the entire country when we had trillions in debt, and embark on two wars with no plan to pay for them.
And then after the country spanked em for it in 2006, I watched em craft a political strategy that relied on driving conservatives to the polls by creating wedge social issues like gay marriage, abortion, and immigration to distract people from the fact that they were bankrupting the country.
Then they got the House back in 2010 and started spitting out bills about abortion on an order of magnitude greater than the bills about jobs or the economy.
Then Obama offered 4 trillion in spending cuts in exchange for 1 trillion in higher taxes in folks with annual income and they shat upon it.
I voted for Republicans most of my life but after the **** show they've put on for the last 12 years? Yeah, they can **** right off for the foreseeable future.
When you're spending more than you take in every year AND you have debt equal to your annual income, you don't dig out of that hole by not eating out and cancelling the cable. You've also got to go get some additional income. You cut AND get more income. That's what I see Obama doing. Romney wanted to INCREASE defense spending by two TRILLION and cut tax rates but couldnt explain how any of it would be paid for.
That's what I'm supposed to vote for?! I don't think so. They can **** a bag of ******.
If ya care governor votes were Arne, Ventura (oops), Pawlenty, and Horner.
