This time I am more worried than 94... I don't see a sunset clause in our future.

I'm not worried. It won't pass.

I figured it was official during the debates when he announced it there.

It's political suicide for the Democrats. Like I said in another thread, they are going to compromise to something less than the AWB. They are just kowtowing right now because their supporters expect them to stand up right now. But at the end of the day when the emotions settle down and people are meeting in back rooms, they are going to realize that the cost to passing the current AWB is going to cost a lot of them their jobs.

You know what makes me the most sad? Obama managed to troll this whole forum 10 times harder than I've ever been able to, and he doesn't even know it exists. :-( I *wish* I could generate the angst he did today!

So what will be the compromise? I am guessing 10-round mag limits.

Probably not. Maybe FFL only transfers (gun lobby would probably LOVE this). Possibly insurance costs (added taxes) for manufacturers, or per-gun "mental health fee" for new purchases. Waiting periods. Lots of options in between the AWB and nothing.

Correct me if I am wrong but haven't the majority of these shootings happened with a Dem in the White House?
