Hillary Clinton to head taskforce on 'scaling back' First Ammendment.

Says, 'Online Porn' took my Bill away. And that in today's world the First Amendment is 'Obsolete' just as the Second Amendment is.

In an exclusive interview with Ann Coulter, Fox News reports, " We no longer live in an era of Muzzle-loaded Flintlocks and there is no justification for the ocean of Pornography that is drowning our children. If not for the Sunami of Online Pornography I would have had a happy healthy marriage and my husband would not have sought Illicit Sex Thrills outside our marriage...Thrills that included Rape and Coercive Sexual Encounters under color of authority" The Founding Fathers did not envision Thousands of websites featuring ' Granny Porn' or 30-round Ammo Clips

Well, unlike the Anti-2A crowd, they don't say ban them, they just trying to highlight what might be causing some possible loss of our youth's morality.

I didn't see that he was actually blaming video games, just that there are a lot more things to consider than guns being the bad element in this.

... I'm sure Adam Lanza was fully capable of discerning his video game experiences with reality! Image

Here's a thought ... how 'bout NICS to make sure someone ain't in the "mentally unstable" database ... 'fore they can buy a video game?! :ugeek:

I've shot, stabbed and blown up over 12,000 people in a single video game. I'm a responsible gun owner too and see zero impact games have had. http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/soldier/CarRacer36/stats/365616156/ The same people that tout the mantra of "guns don't kill people, people do" trying to blame guns and media just baffles me.

The only legitimate argument I see against violent video games is in the case of mentally unbalanced people (such as the killer) who would have trouble differentiating reality and fiction. Video games could have an impact there, but again that comes down to the parent deciding if that is a possibility for their child. A ban on violent games and media impacts everyone and doesn't really solve the problem. Why does that sound familiar?

Again, I don't think anyone said ban videogames. geesh. Maybe a 7 day waiting period though... ;-) If its good enough for... You know what I was gonna say.

Or better yet, a 10 round limit on mags in the games.. yeah that will solve all the worlds problems. Whatever.

I don't know.

Mental illness is a serious problem that our country has seriously dropped the ball on. It's a far reaching issue and I don't know how you change public perception of it and offer medical solutions that help people instead of simply locking them up or pumping them full of chemicals. There's no one size fits all solution and it's a serious problem that affects a whole lot more people than any of us wants to admit.

I don't think that LaPierre was blaming video games or movies or calling for any kind of ban. I think he was pointing out the hypocrisy of the media's desire to take away the rights of law abiding citizens while adding to the vast library of material that, in a sense, promotes violence.

That's very much the way I read it!

Let's not overlook the obvious! ...

LaPierre laid out an entirely workable, immediate, effective plan to make ALL schoolchildren safe ... TODAY!

NOTHING osama, Biden, Feinstein, 'er ANYONE else, has come CLOSE to this kinda effectiveness, or anywhere near as quickly!

So ... with that, are osama, Biden, Feinstein, 'er any other politician interested in PROTECTING schoolchildren NOW?! ... or simply passing a bill?! ... that won't save a single soul?!

... is there any question, at all?!

Is there a single reason osama can't implore Congress to put a bill on his desk TODAY, to put a cop, security guard, or the like ... in EVERY school in the U.S.?! ... hell, if he did, they might even elect him to a 3rd term?!

I listened to the whole thing and not once was banning video games, music, or television mentioned All he did was elevate the facts that things we consider entertainment are becoming more and more violent. How many kids do you know that immerse themselves in these games for hours and hours on end? Would you consider this healthy behavior? Am I blaming the games.....absolutely not. Parents for letting their kids lives revolve around them......Maybe.

Just for debate, I'll give you 2 options:
#1. A kid sits in his parents basement playing 1st person shooter video games day and night, they hardly see the light of day and rarely interact with the real world. They slowly become more and more separated from society.

#2. A kids parents get him/her involved in the competitive shooting sports. Trap, skeet, 4-position rimfire, USPSA, High-Power, 3-Gun......Pick your poison. Let them shoot real guns as much as their spare time allows (even scary black guns with 30rnd mags at humanoid targets). They are outdoors engaging in a physical activity spending time with a group of folks that in general hold to a very high moral standard.

Option #1 or #2, which kid do you feel is more likely to go on a mass killing spree?

You'd be surprised.

There is ample evidence that playing shooter video games make people better shots. It also desensitizes them to the violence of the shooting.

The NRA came to the table ready to offer logical, workable solutions, as well as offering funding for some of it. How can (although I know they will) the anti-gun mockery debate that as being bad?
