Yes it is.

Not really but its kind of pointless. Don't give em any ideas. Pretty soon they will have a new ammo tax as well. That would piss me off more than any gun restriction. Our government taxes enough, they just need to stop frivolous spending. Remember, the government does not make money, they spend it. Other than when they continue to print it I guess.

There are gun laws we can enact that won't hurt us in the least, and gives the impression of compromise.

I tend to agree; what are you thinking?

Increased punishments for straw buying.

Then what do you call it?

Gun manufacturers pay no taxes. They are passed on to the consumer. Unnecessarily high prices sure sound restrictive to me.

Heffey is right, gun control can be a good thing. Here's one. Why don't we make it illegal for federal agents to make straw purchases for Mexican drug cartels?

This is an excellent point. The time table is a big blunder.

I don't think it's a blunder at all. Dems don't want gun control either. They just want to fool the antis that happen to vote for them to think they care about the issue. They are well aware that this will go nowhere, but now they can say they sure tried. I mean come on, we had a task force and everything! Wall Street does not pay politicians to worry about things like gun control, so any talk about gun control will be just that, talk.

The Dems are happy with a certain level of gun violence. That way they can keep spewing their anti-gun propaganda. They love to show up at tragedies. The thinking of Rahm Emanuel is to never let a crisis go to waste. It is predictable that a lot of these tragedies happen in states run by liberals. Perfect fodder for the ambulance chasing nuts.

I agree with that to a certain extent. That's why I just see 10 round mags as being legal.. Something small they will enact to look like they did something.

They pay the same taxes other companies do - they are not exempt from taxes...

I think what he's saying is that no company *really* pays taxes, it's all passed on to the consumer...

its kinda like a tires plus or something. Buy three tires and the fourth one is Free!!!! You don't really get the fourth one free. The other three are just more loot. Look at all the guys buying $60 P-mags. The companies find a way to make the profit either way.
