All I know is that if I received a cut-and-paste message 100's or 1000's of times per day, consisting of literally the same text down to the punctuation, I'd probably ignore most if not all of them... or shuffle them all into a folder labeled "people who can't write a message themselves"

Not saying it's a bad thing that people are using this service, but IMO a concise and well worded, personally written, letter or email message will go further.

It's actually just about the same thing as signing a petition, and they are sometimes effective. Unless you want a Death Star, of course.

I just shot off an email through the Ruger site. It got me wondering if our reps spam filters are blocking these emails. I'm going to resend to all my reps through my own email account to be on the safe side and suggest anyone who used the ruger site do the same.

I am saddened by the tragic events in Newtown, Connecticut, but I believe that efforts to impose new restrictions on me and other lawful and responsible owners like me are misguided. Did you know that violent crime with firearms has declined since the Federal "assault weapons ban" expired in 2004?

Your focus should be on strengthening mental health care and improving the quality of data supporting NICs checks (National Instant Criminal Background Check System). Do NOT pass more gun laws; instead, work to enforce the more than 20,000 gun laws already on the books.
