If we're going to use this misinterpretation as a historical analogy, then it would work a lot better in the opposite direction. Second Amendment supporters have been winning battles across the country for the past 20 years. And now through a tactical loss of Sandy Hook, the gun control groups can seize the initiative and start fighting back, leading to what will be our battle of the Midway, except in this case we're going to be on the losing side of history.
