Did he have armed bodyguards?

Which one of you were the hecklers?

Based on the questions -- I think we were fairly well represented. I kept my mouth shut only because I had a few people to talk to afterwards.

How'd you like the 17yr old lecturing to the single mom aboutn how she doesn't need a high cap mag to defend herself and family? :(

I also felt like some of his panelists didn't really agree with him - and then he just about threw the Minneapolis Police Officer (from the sex crimes unit) under the bus when he asked what an officer's standard magazine capacity was - the officer dodged the answer though...

A coworker and I were there... The mag capacity question was pretty funny. What about when the 17 year old guy started talking about the "100 round barrel magazine" used in Aurora?

Here are some of the comments from the anti-gun public...

-Guns should be stored at a police station
-Fingerprint checks to buy guns
-10 day waiting period to buy guns
-Crack down on straw purchasers
-High cap mags are NOT common sense
-Assault weapons are NOT common sense
-Add graphic photos of gun shot victims to the beginning of video games to serve as a PSA
-Guns are a personal safety issue (ie. suicide)
-Mental health patients are 11 times as likely to be a victim
-We need a high cap mag ban. Either retrofit to 10 rounds or turn in to the police.

Also what about when Ellison asked the liberal gun owner a question and wouldn't let him answer it? He pulled a Piers Morgan there.

There was so much dodging I felt like like throwing a wrench. :P

What do you think the breakdown of supporters vs. opponents was there tonight? Based on the Q&A...I was going to say 60% in favor of gun control, 40% opposed.

There were at least a few people by me nodding at the pro-gunnie statements. Although I wasn't really sure where the one guy was going with his comments on AA.

Ellison: "I must confess that I am a gun owner"

He just had to say it like it is a bad thing to be a gun owner. Would that make him a part of the "gun absolutism" problem that he talked about?

I counted at least 8 pro-gun speakers in the audience and something like 13 anti-gunners making comments.

Did anyone video record the event?
The guy who did the McCollum shindig last weekend http://www.youtube.com/user/MNCD4Conservative?feature=watch seems to get around to these kind of things, based on his youtube stuff. I have not yet watched it but he's got a vid of the 19 Jan Capitol Rally.

And props to all who went :thankyou:

My phone died around the time that things started. So no video this time around. I will be more prepared in the future.

Based in the video and photos, I think that same guy from McCollum's forum was at Ellison's tonight recording it.

I'd love to get some sound bites from tonight.

When you think about it 60-40 Anti / pro is pretty good for San Francisco on the Mississippi. :) You were in the heart of New Urbanist Utopia.

No, liberals love to apologize. It gives them a warm feeling. Look at BHO's 12009 "Apologize for the USA" tour. He was a hit with the enemies of this nation. Jimmy (Peanut Man) Carter was a big apologist as well.
