Has Channel 5 veered to The Left Lately?

I find the other stations completely un-watchable, and that includes Weather as well...so @ 5:00 & 10:00 I just click 5. They do MORE news than the other stations....but lately I detect a slight turn to the left...as in extended coverage of anything Obama. But what caught my attention tonight was the Keith Ellison Town Hall meeting on editing the Bill of Rights...KSTP did not stick a mike in any pro 2A supporters face. And their double dose that starts at 10:30 lead with the Ellison event.

Let's hope I'm imagining it...I really find 11, 4 and Channel 9 unwatchable. I think I've gone 20 years with out touching the Dead Tree Version of the Strib.

I sincerely doubt it. I know Hubbard, of Hubbard Broadcasting, is a huge Republican supporter. I've heard reporters say multiple times he doesn't influence their reporting but I think he'd step up if he noticed bias.

I think you're seeing what you want to see.

If you look at Hubbard's radio programming over the past few years it's pretty obvious they are moving away from any controversial ( and I'll add substantive) content. From one of the top talk stations in the country to another me-too jock talker. I suspect this is preemptive for fear of another fairness doctrine. As to most of the local TV newsies, They don't seem capable of both talking and holding opinions at once.

KSTP, like any good capitalist, blows with winds of money,

There market is very blue so they tend to be center left.
If a Republican wins in 2014, I would expect to see them go center right.

But we need to accept the fact that this is a blue state and the main twin-cities media market is Dark Blue.
