I'm pretty sure Glock makes very little if not loses money on LEO contracts. Glock makes its money in the civilian market and military contracts.

Olympic firearms response to New York state

It's time for gun and part manufacturers to stop playing both sides. It's about time they take a stand with us and for the 2A. Stop selling to gov't agencies within states that pass anti-2A bills period. It's not enough that they donate to the NRA or make flowery statements on their sites about the importance of private gun ownership. They need to draw a line in the sand and we and consumers need to help them see that. Call, e-mail, write a letter to your favorite gun and parts manufacturer and tell them your opinion on what Oly Arms and LaRue are doing and that you will be shifting your money to companies that do the same.

It's time to spread the word via any social venue available. Colt, DD, BCM, Apex, Magpul, Remington, DPMS, Huldra and all the others need to know how you expect them to react.

It actually takes very little to make a company move in one direction or another. All they need to see or hear is a trend. They just need a little push in the right direction.

Another firearms company chooses not to do business with those who make it their business to disarm civilians. From York Arms’ web site:

Based on the recent legislation in New York, we are prohibited from selling rifles and receivers to residents of New York. We have chosen to extend that prohibition to all governmental agencies associated with or located within New York. As a result we have halted sales of rifles, short barreled rifles, short barreled shotguns, machine guns, and silencers to New York governmental agencies . . .

For “civilian” customers residing in New York:
At your choice, we will:

complete your order and ship to a dealer of your choice outside of NY
refund your payment in full
hold your items here for up to 6 months, at no charge – if you are in the process of leaving NY and taking residence in another state.

For LE/Govt customers in New York:

Your orders have been cancelled.

Maybe so, but it's a cause worth continuing.

I have emailed DPMS twice this week. Once i even copied the article and let them know what's going on. I'm pretty sure they already have a pretty good grasp of what's going on since the president of DPMS was at the capital last week. But it sure would be great if they would jump in the fold as well. And if these companies would send stuff to our governor before anything happens.

I also just emailed federal ammunition. Not sure if that's going to help a whole lot because i'm sure the big government buy up that just happened sure helped to pad their pockets a little bit.

They are taking a stand and thanks for judging them for doing the right thing. Also, I didn't realize that brands that met your "certified" standards are only able to fight for our 2A rights. If all gun/ammo companies took a stand, it might get a message across.

I recently saw the following notice from Cheaper Than Dirt:

Cheaper Than Dirt Supports Citizens' 2nd Amendment Rights

Recently companies such as LaRue Tactical and Olympic Arms announced they will no longer sell prohibited items to government agencies and personnel in states denying civilians to own those same items. It has been and will continue to be Cheaper Than Dirt's policy not to sell prohibited items to government agencies and agents in states, counties, cities and municipalities that have enacted restrictive gun control laws against their citizens. We support and encourage other companies that share in this sentiment.

One more standing up for the right thing.

I'd call it backpedaling in their case, in an attempt to regain some lost customers caused by their recent debacle.
They were the first to shut down gun sales in the wake of Newtown, and then 3x the price of what they would sell.

Yeah, and they are saying out of one side of their mouth that they don't like the shortage, or panic that's going on, and out of the other side they are telling you the price... And in the back of their mind they are thinking about Acapulco, and how many trips they can take. And how they can retire early because of the whole price gouging!

Places like that, should honestly be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of the situation that bad. I never have, and never will do business with a place like that. Sure, they have the right to because of supply and demand, but you want to piss off customers in a hurry, quadruple your prices in a hurry, and it's a done deal.

I still buy my 223 rounds for .27 cents a round. Guy i buy it from says, i bought over 200,000 rounds at that price years ago, and that's what i'm going to sell it for. But he's not out to make a ton of money. He just likes doing this as an FFL because he loves having the company. People go there to buy and it's a 2 hour stop because he loves to talk.

Whether they made a bad choice earlier or not, every company that takes a stand now is valuable to the cause. Choose not to buy from them if you dislike their prior actions but be thankful they have taken the stand...

Can't dispute your logic.
But given their finger-in-the-air/ weather-vaning policy changes, I would not be surprized to hear that ctd, like so many other arms sellers, have a LE/ .gov operation under another name.
