They'd never go door-to-door...

Forget police drones flying over your house. How about police coming inside, once a year, to have a look around?

As Orwellian as that sounds, it isn’t hypothetical. The notion of police home inspections was introduced in a bill last week in Olympia.

That it’s part of one of the major gun-control efforts pains me. It seemed in recent weeks lawmakers might be headed toward some common-sense regulation of gun sales. But then last week they went too far. By mistake, they claim. But still too far.

“They always say, we’ll never go house to house to take your guns away. But then you see this, and you have to wonder.”

That’s no gun-rights absolutist talking, but Lance Palmer, a Seattle trial lawyer and self-described liberal who brought the troubling Senate Bill 5737 to my attention. It’s the long-awaited assault-weapons ban, introduced last week by three Seattle Democrats.

Why is the national media picking up on the proposed legislation in CO, MO, and WA but failing to mention all the crap on the table in MN? It's as big of news as anywhere else: confiscation, registration, home searches, forfeiture-on-death, etc.

I'll worry until the last gavel is pounded.

But the news is now more favorable and I think it's because legislators noticed our strong response......and they'd like to keep their majority status.

Maybe......just maybe.....they GOT it.

Sort of like the Obamacare town hall meetings? These folks don't care what we think, because they know what's best.

But they also want to keep their majority status.

I think they realized that they were in jeopardy just due to Paymar's extremism getting so much publicity and causing such extreme anger.

I think things might actually quiet down some now.....because they realize they're on thin ice now even if they don't pass a thing.

Absolutely. By far the smartest people I have ever encountered reside in the intellectual elitist community in the state of Minnesota.

It's a tactic to get us to drop our guard. If it's not all over the news, then we're not getting riled up, and if we're not there to keep them accountable - they slip it in and "oh, look at that, it's law now."

I don't know if that's true or not, but since it might be true, I just sent some more money to GOCRA, trusting that they'll be the first ones to smell a rat.

Remember the legislature is very good at bringing back dead bills in the last hours of the session.
We have to keep the pressure up till the end!
We have to remind these people that any last minute passage will not be forgotten.

Just a theory, but it's been done in the past. We need to make sure people aren't voting "present" and allowing this to slide through.

Bingo.

They want us to stop the pressure and remain in the dark.

NO.

That's our answer without compromise. No quarter given. Never surrender, keep up the pressure and the momentum because once we win this round and defeat these bills, we need to press onward and get pro-gun legislation introduced. because now is the time. We can say "Look, we as Minnesotans have defeated these bills and clearly we are pro-gun and wish to protect our 2A rights; and as such, we're introducing legislation to further protect the rights of Minnesotans to protect themselves and to further guarantee our right to bare arms." or something worded better than that, but you get the idea. I'm sure Tony Cornish would be on our side for that.
