First thing to do would be to trade the student body of a nice suburban school (say, Edina) with the student body from a struggling inner-city school.
Just have them switch schools. Nothing else changes.....teachers, activities, everything else stays the same......just the students switch.
Try it for five years and see how the inner city kids do with the improved conditions.
Then we'd have the data to make assessments and conclusions about equal opportunity.

No one argues that many impoverished communities aren't disadvantaged. The question is, what is the government's (taxpayers) responsibility.

Furthermore, I would argue that money and education are not the whole picture. Others have pointed out the importance of family...

That's easy.

The government responsibility is to provide equal education for all.

The book you got your signature line from also says you should love your neighbor as yourself, but some Christians pick and choose only the convenient lines from the book.

That's true, but it's just one of many pieces of the picture.

The test I have proposed would give us more information about that very question.

But, you are the government and the individual......yet you allow your neighbor (a little child) to go to a sub-standard school--thereby failing to love your neighbor and disregarding the high esteem your Savior obviously had for little children.

Loving your neighbor as yourself means giving money to the government to educate everyone as the majority sees fit?

The Constitution OBVIOUSLY doesn't mandate every single aspect of our lives.

There are higher laws.
