Ollie: Now you are going to paraphrase Karl Marx to make a point? “From each, according to his ability; to each, according to his need”Unbelievable. And, to answer your question, none other than Nancy Pelosi said we have to pass it in order to read it when Obamacare was crammed down the throats of Americans. Nothing was watered down in this bill -- the Republicans had no voice. The idiocy of the "nebraska payoff" typlied the tyranny of the Democratic majority in Congress when this bill was passed.
Funny that Obamacare is going to cost the middle class couples up to $4,400 per year in graduated insurance payments to offset the additional costs for the sick, lame and lazy who will overburden the current system to collapse. Yes, Obama care will tax people making over $50,000 to help pay for those who make less than $50,000 per year. We're talking trillions of dollars over the next 20 years, and who is going to pay for it? Even the rich can't sustain that type of system. No one can "cost out" Obamacare -- the numbers are too big evidently for the actuaries to attempt.
Hey, what happens when an ice cream place starts handing out free ice cream cones? The line forms, and it goes around the block, cuz its free! What happens when people are given free health care with no "skin in the game"? They will overwhelm the clinics, the medical staff, the hospitals. I watched co-workers so abuse a $5 co-pay for a doctor's office visit that it broke the Blue Cross program we had. They were going for the least sniffle in a kid or to get free bandaids. Now the copay is $45, and people stop and think before they clog the clinic. It is human nature. Sooooo, someone will need to make choices on who gets what, and that will be by age and quality of life in regard to the illness/injury. This is already in force in Great Britain. I have several friends over 65 who have been denied joint surgery as it is too expensive to give to someone their age. Use a cane, here's a mobility chair, get along get along now, you'll be fine. Insert your "heartless" rebuttal here.
