Open carry in TX is a threat, apparently, so I see room for subjective interpretation.

IIRC "printing" is treated the same as OC in Texas, meaning make sure you aren't printing, or else.

Who would have thought that OCing would be such a bad thing in a state like Texas? I mean, they were their own republic for awhile, have their own power grid, and are the bastion of independence attitude, and yet, you can't OC there???

There are actually advantages to both methods, for example open carry has deterred crime - concealed carry has not... that's about as big of an advantage as you can get. I've never read of any proof that open carriers are targeted first, but I've read the argument 100 times. Being 6'2 I'm probably a target anyway, gun or no gun.

No worries.

I think this is the second time you and I have misunderstood each other though. If you could, keep in mind that I'm on your side and I am not out to get you. I just have a dry sense of humor and will sometimes throw in a sarcastic jab for for giggles.

I did the same thing to the guys with GOCRA this weekend at the fair grounds. Took 'em a few minutes to realize the things I was saying that were toungue in cheek. I even had a couple dudes going about how the knife they were looking at was too small because my girlfriend carries one around 3x that size. It's just something I get a kick out of, and usually people catch on pretty quick that i'm being a smart @$$

I'll keep that in mind because my foot tastes terrible. Needs more salt.

The crime statistics from the state of Florida suggest otherwise.

When FLA became a conceal carry state, attacks on known or suspected residents went down Attacks on known or suspected foreign tourists rose.

In all fairness though, Florida is a whacked state to begin with. It seems like anytime some pedo is on the loose, it's in Florida, if it's some really crazy crime, it's there as well. Yes, things happen other places too, but to me it seems like a lot of crazy stuff happens in Florida. I've never been hassled for my OC here in MN, but I bet if I went to South Central LA anytime, especially late at night, I would be. All places aren't equal and thus can't be compared equally. When Fidel dumped all of the crazies and criminals off his island, where did many of them end up? In Florida of course, because it's 90 miles away and the closest place to go to.

I think you are confusing FLA with California. That's where the serious crazies hang out. There's two "crazy magnets" in California. The bigger one is in San Francisco Bay, the smaller in the LA Basin.

California and Florida are both pretty sane, but the number of anti-gunners is far greater in California.

Why are people so shocked at the arrival of the 21st Century? There were many warnings that it might even show up in Texas.

If you know how to carry concealed, your shirt won't be "riding up over your gun." It's just a matter of knowing what you're doing.

...or fidgiting incessantly with your shirt. Clothing doesn't always obey what you want it to do. A gun in an IWB holster doesn't exactly push your shirt DOWN now does it? All it takes is a one time accidental exposure to the wrong person in a non OC state and your permit is done.

Accidental exposures are just that.....accidental.

Under the law, that's a totally different thing from open carry.

Hysteria gets us noplace.
