I see nothing wrong with a little levity. Tensions are high on these issues, and for good reason. People like Feinstein want to go farther than they have ever gone before and they are proud of it to the point where they do everything they can to squelch out any expression against their bad policies.

You can scoff at the sophomoric nature of these images, but they seem rather apropo given the level of sophisitcation of the subjects.

This is definitely not something you want to shove in the face of people working at the capitol, so a little discretion on where and how often you share it can go a long way. But I wouldnt discourage people from having fun at the expense of legislators who hold them in nothing but contempt.

My only word of caution is to remember to be gracious in victory. One thing the opposition would do in our position is rub our faces in it until we bled. And, we have not really won. Still much work to be done, and some people who are mightily P.O.'d at any turn where we hold them off. Take pride in our successes, but don't fan the flames.

I see it as smash-mouth politics. RIDICULE is a powerful tool....it also gets at a core truth.

Again Saturday Night Live skits have WAY more influence than they should.

Plus:

FEINSTEIN ACTUALLY SAID THESE THINGS. I (and others) are just laughing at her.

I'm beginning to think there's something far more personal going on here with regards to MZ Feinstein

Can't you just go away like you did last time?
To the two forum members who have used lines from my posts as their signatures, can't you quote Jesse Ventura or some other great Minnesotan instead of stealing mine? - LePetomane

Also you could present 1,000 carefully chosen words or

ONE

Oleg Volk poster

and Oleg Volk's in-you-face imagery is what you will remember...I seriously think the NRA should comission him to make bus stop posters 'Humanizing' the NRA. Because the NRA is being Demonized the way Sarah Pailin and the Tea Baggers....I mean Tea Party was.

To go full circle and bring it back to Minnesota, I found it refreshing that GOCRA used a little humor in their latest E-Blast with this photo of our friend Paymar.

(Paymar and Cornish do an absolutely 'Senatorial' job of polite posturing while mentioning their differences on policy)

You can't ignore the fact that both 'Chairman Paymar' and 'Chairman Mao' have a striking physical resemblance even if they have slight disagreements on policy.

No, but I do think that childish pictures ridiculing our opponents make us look stupid.

They also confirm the (all too strong and prevailing) stereotype of us as offensive and ignorant buffoons and bullies.

Do you think people respect ignorant buffoons? Do you think they are likely to listen to the ideas of offensive and ignorant buffoons? Or are they likely to fear and hate those ignorant, bullying buffoons?

Posting such pictures does us far more harm than good.

I'll make it easy:

Here's a Google Image search link to Oleg Volk Gun Posters:

https://www.google.com/search?q=oleg+vo ... 49&bih=532

Name 50 'authorities' on 2A and gun issues and American Politics and in my humble but thoughtful position Oleg Volk is in the top 2 or 3 in terms of his ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE. To get past the Blur and get people to think.

Click the link and be amazed. Describe it yourself, but you'll see the power of a simple image vs paragraphs of text. He's a humble photographer / designer in Nashville but I think he merits a big dollar contract from the NRA / GOA / SAF to color the image of gun owners / fans of the Bill of Rights with AWESOMENESS. It should also be noted that he keeps it classy...he doesn't mock ugly old hags like I do. :)
