Name 50 'authorities' on 2A and gun issues and American Politics and I my humble but thoughtful position Oleg Volk is in the top 2 or 3 in terms of his ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE. To get past the Blur and get people to think.

Click the link and be amazed. Describe it yourself, but you'll see the power of a simple image vs paragraphs of text. He's a humble photographer / designer in Nashville but I think he merits a big dollar contract from the NRA / GOA / SAF to color the image of gun owners / fans of the Bill of Rights with AWESOMENESS. It should also be noted that he keeps it classy...he doesn't mock ugly old hags like I do. :)

What's amazing is that you somehow associate the tripe you've been posting with
with the works of Oleg Volk.

I can't speak for Mr Volk, but I suspect he would quite creatively suggest that you get off his side.

This is about as close as his work gets to your postings: http://www.mnguntalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=9895&p=100361#p100294

I may have started it when I asked readers to take a good look at his photo, and if so, I apologize. I would like to see us all work together rather than find ourselves divided by photo renditions of the same people that split us in the beginning...

My real concern is that we put our energy towards defeating political causes that are wholly united and more than happy to drive any wedge they can in our end goal.

The thought that comes to mind is that we as sportsmen, are typically very strong individuals that aren't always drawn towards working together. However, if we can, I think we will find that the benefits will outweigh the pleasures that come with irritating others in our party. Keep in mind that if we could summon the same strength and numbers that something like Ducks Unlimited does when we all work together...we could really achieve great things in keeping our sport and hobbies free of hatemongers.

There will always be the fringe element of any group that believes their ideas and goals are more important, more powerful, than the rest of the groups...and with that, I say let them go off and start their own assembly of men and women if it's that important, but when it's all said and done, we will all benefit far more if we all work together, as a bonded group.

I am more than willing to work with all of you to achieve a common goal, I will contribute my time, my money, whatever it takes to do my share...up to a point, and that point is where it becomes obvious that other people are not contributing equal amounts of one or the other.

Work as a group, or fight each other as individuals. The choice is and always will be yours.

When members of our group act to hurt us as a group, I don't think we should be working with them anymore. Police our own. Becoming our caricature isn't helping us out.

Of course, if we want to look like third graders and call people names while using such witty defenses as "they started it", well then... I guess that is who we are after all.

You may not be aware of it, but Oleg lived in MN, and was active in MNCCRN, back before he moved to TN.

IOW, many of us not only know who he is, we know him personally.

Not at all. However, the money you would raise in attempt to oust an elected official who may be better spent removing the gun banners in swing districts. Odds are that those elected officials represent the same political party as Rep. Paymar, and if they're defeated during the next general election, his chairmanship ends. If 2A supporters chair (and dominate) the committee, the odds of his nonsense making it to the house floor are greatly diminished.

I did a quick search on election results in Rep. Paymar's district (64B). In the last four elections (2006, 2008, 2010, and 2012), he has averaged nearly 71.2% of the vote. Any way you slice it, that's a pretty steep hill to climb.

.
Good points and great input. I agree, he does have a large percent of the voters following him, and that is a strong statement about the people in that district. We seem to have sprouted a sickning bumpercrop of men that prefer lacy undergarments to woolen longjohns in Minnesota and its sure a shame to see it happen.

Yes, his constituents are all men with lacy underpants.

Have we dealt with our low self-esteem sufficiently now?

I think we can safely add you to the block list and feel it was a great use of a mouse click.

If you are so over-endowed with testosterone that you don't see the point of my post, then it won't matter if I don't communicate with you any further.

You come in here challenging anyone with a sense of humor and a desire to vent on those that irritate us, typifying them as childish, vulgar, pithey louts undeserving of your time, and then when everyone is calmed down and ready to start communicating, you have to post a smart ass / childish comment that does nothing but insult us all over again.

It's pretty clear who the problem is, and secondly, if I offended your choice of skivies AND the point of my post was lost on you due to that, life will go on. Without you.

No, but I do think that childish pictures ridiculing our opponents make us look stupid.

They also confirm the (all too strong and prevailing) stereotype of us as offensive and ignorant buffoons and bullies.

Do you think people respect ignorant buffoons? Do you think they are likely to listen to the ideas of offensive and ignorant buffoons? Or are they likely to fear and hate those ignorant, bullying buffoons?

Posting such pictures does us far more harm than good.

So.....all those political cartoons on the opinion page of the local paper making us gun owners out as buffoons or madmen are okay? Fight fire with fire!
Get off my lawn!

Back on the original topic: "Don't ever interrupt your enemy while he's making a mistake."

A lot of this stuff will be a very big deal outside of the metro-area come the next election.
It turns out that what you have is less important than what you do with it.

And once again this devolves into infighting. That sentiment should be great for anti gun hearings at the capitol.
