A letter from the White House

Postby Lights on Sat Apr 13, 2013 12:33 pm

The White House just emailed this to me. What the hell. Now they are solisitating me for gun control. This ******* has a lot of balls to keep using the victims from the school shooting.
Hello, everybody --

Each week, like many presidents before me, I sit down to record a short address to the nation. It's something I take very seriously because it offers a chance to bring focus to an issue that needs to be part of the national dialogue.

But today, I've asked someone to take my place.

Francine Wheeler is a mother. She and her family live in Newtown, Connecticut. Four months ago, her six year-old son Ben was murdered in his elementary school, along with 19 other children and six brave educators.

Joined by her husband David, Francine shares her perspective about the steps we can take to reduce gun violence and prevent the kind of tragedy she understands all too well.

It's a message that every American should hear:

Watch Francine, then join her in speaking out to make our country safer.

This week, because people like Francine and like you got involved, the U.S. Senate took a step forward on commonsense reforms to reduce gun violence.

And that's good. Because this shouldn't be about politics. This is about doing the right thing for families that have been torn apart by gun violence, and for all our families going forward.

But we've got a lot of work to do before Congress finishes the job.

So if you believe that we can take sensible steps to protect more of our kids from gun violence and protect our Second Amendment rights, stand up and join us.

Just visit WhiteHouse.gov to get started:

Thanks,

President Obama

A letter from the White House

Isn't there something more productive he could do? Write a budget, properly fund existing laws, remember to uphold the constitution.

Kosh, that's asking an awful lot from a guy who couldn't even produce his birth certificate!

I got the same response this week. The only reason it's not in the trash bin yet is it's cool seeing "the white house" in the Inbox.

It used to be "cool"

The "cool" factor of such an item started waining in January of 1969. Some cool factor was restored in the '80s, but started to diminish again during the 90's and was completely gone on January 20th, 2009.

Let us hope that one day the cool factor of being contacted by the White House returns, no matter who sleeps there.

Using dead children is the only leverage they can use over the general public in attempts to pull on their perverbial heart strings. They keep forgetting the fact that if a teacher had been armed, it could have been over with a lot less casualties. I'm just waiting for this fad to be over so I can buy ammo.

On the same note, when my son made Eagle Scout it was right before the One took office. Eagle Scouts get a letter form the president as part of their award. And although my son earned his Eagle while Bush was president, obviously the paper work did not get processed until after the On etook office. My son got his from the One and wrote Bush's new office asking if he would sned the letter instead. Which GW did.

Why not use this as an excuse to write a letter and mail it to the president voicing your distaste about him using the victims families like this. Ore the fact that he only bothered to bring be families that agreed with his agenda.

The address for the whitehouse is on the bottom of the email.

My letter was in the mail today.
