I have may posted this before, but it's a great quote so I'll repeat it:
People accuse me of being a single-issue writer, a single- issue thinker, and a
single- issue voter, but it isn't true. What I've chosen, in a world where
there's never enough time and energy, is to focus on the one political issue
which most clearly and unmistakably demonstrates what any politician—or
political philosophy—is made of, right down to the creamy liquid center.

Make no mistake: all politicians—even those ostensibly on the side of guns and
gun ownership—hate the issue and anyone, like me, who insists on bringing it up.
They hate it because it's an X-ray machine. It's a Vulcan mind-meld. It's the
ultimate test to which any politician—or political philosophy—can be put.

If a politician isn't perfectly comfortable with the idea of his average
constituent, any man, woman, or responsible child, walking into a hardware store
and paying cash—for any rifle, shotgun, handgun, machinegun, anything—without
producing ID or signing one scrap of paper, he isn't your friend no matter what
he tells you.

If he isn't genuinely enthusiastic about his average constituent stuffing that
weapon into a purse or pocket or tucking it under a coat and walking home
without asking anybody's permission, he's a four-flusher, no matter what he
claims.

What his attitude—toward your ownership and use of weapons—conveys is his real
attitude about you. And if he doesn't trust you, then why in the name of John
Moses Browning should you trust him?

Then vote for the RINO. You will never have a conservative candidate running in this state. If you vote for Franken then you deserve what you get. Emmer and Coleman were shi**y candidates but they were not Dayton and Frankenstein. I voted for both of them. Those of you who voted for Dayton and Frankenstein are the ones who gave us these two a**holes and are not only part of the problem, you are the problem!!!!!!!!

The only thing that Emmer had to offer is that he was not Mark Dayton. I didn't find his political platform to be anything groundbreaking. It was made public that he had a DUI in the remote past. Not an issue with me but I think that hurt him. Republicans in this state have to be squeaky clean. Republicans here are also hesitant to point out shortcomings in their political opponents because they fear being labeled as intolerant.

I personally have never voted for a democrat ... I have voted for every worthless piece of sh*t the GOP has spewed except Norm Coleman..... I voted for him once or twice but had to puke on the way out of the polling place .... I couldn't vote for that Rino when he ran against HHH3 ... so I voted for Jessie V. .......... then I had to puke and gag again as the GOP betrayed us with Normie again ..... I mean for Christ's sake who didn't get it last time .... we hate Norm

Are you listening GOP .... HARD CORE REPUBLICANS ARE VOTING FOR
NONE OF THE ABOVE CANDIDATES
.... McFadden is worse than Normie for me..... PUKE gag hack spit .... and so what more Rinos in DC .... not on my vote ................

If you don't vote, you vote for Franken. I'd vote for McFadden over Franken any day.

If I don't vote, then I am not voting for anyone. What I am do is sending a signal both parties that their candidate of choice is unworthy of my support.
They can then act at their own peril.

Unfortunately they are blinded and deafened by their monumental arrogance and egos. They could care less. The politicians no longer subscribe to the idea that they work for us.

Yes, I have no illusions about my impact or influence as a voter in MN.

What a waste of time. If you're trying to get a politician to "stake out a position on various issues" you've already lost.
"Go 20mm" - Sigfan220
""Real men shoot 20mm." - FJ540
"If I could be reincarnated as a fabric, I would come back as a 38 double-D bra." - Jesse Ventura

You're supposed to say: It's a very complicated issue, much more complicated than it appears on the surface. Then utter a few minutes worth of diversionary crap.

It's not rocket science figuring out where most politicians rank on second amendment issues.

Instead of beating around the bush, you should have told folks this guy needs to be lambasted in public for his anti gun-rights views.

Most people believe and remember the things they figure out or learn for themselves. Those same people typically ignore or forget the things they are merely told to be true when it comes from any source that is not highly trusted by them.

Putting out enough information for individuals to reach their own conclusions is always going to be more persuasive to those who encounter it than will simply stating a conclusion based on that information. The trick is getting that info in front of a large enough number of people for it to make any difference.

Which is exactly what we've been doing since early January. There's more to come.
