The days before the election, I saw an increasing number of Obama pins being worn at Bill's when I was there instructing classes. A couple of times I had a few moments so I commented on them and the attitude I received were all the same: there's no way he could or would do anything banning our guns! Yes, they were serious! Not having time to quote facts, I just commented on how they should check out what he's done in IL & his voting record on gun issues.
Basically, it reminds me of the smoking ban-though the SB is not as serious. I used to bartend and when they started all the smoking ban talk, I had many customers laughing at it because they thought nothing would ever happen because "there are to many of us" or " it's a completely legal act and the gov can't tell the business owner what they can or cannot do if's it's legal" Well, we all know what happened And yes, due to no customers, I no longer bartend in fact the bar is now closed

FWIW, I went to my local toyshop today and put down a deposit on a new DPMS AR. The racks were empty, repeat empty of AKs and used ARs. The owner told me he could not keep them in stock, they were simply flying off the shelves.

Whether there's going to be a new ban or not by BHO and his henchmen, it's pretty clear that the gun-buying public is taking no chances nevermind the lapel pins.

It's funny, but the three gun stores I go to regularly (Bill's North, Bill's Robbinsdale, and Mainstream Outfitters in Winona) have more ARs and AKs than I've ever seen, despite the fact that they are selling them faster than they ever have. I asked Jeff at Mainstream yesterday about this, and he said that anyone who's been in business for a decade or more has no problem stocking, even in this climate. Apparently it's all about the relationships.

Could be a marketing strategy on the part of the stores without many. Create the appearance of a shortage and pull the old, "I have one more in the backroom that was on hold for someone but if you pay full retail I could work something out on it."

Sales overall are up though nationally.
