My Proposal for a "Well-Regulated Militia"

Postby jshuberg on Wed Oct 14, 2015 3:35 pm

I'm just calling it out for what it is. Complete nonsense. Reminds me of a bunch of stoners passing a joint around in a circle discussing how they're gonna save the world.

This thread should be titled "People talking about stupid stuff they're never going to do and acting as if it were real".

First trip to the internet? You do realize that you are also talking about it, right?

At least this thread is getting some traffic. Gotta keep the forum alive somehow.

I want to know more about how to dress like an operator.

My Proposal for a "Well-Regulated Militia"

Postby ZardozCZ on Fri Oct 16, 2015 11:25 am

I like the idea, but think it should start as a volunteer proposition. A friend outside of Nashville has joined Tennessee Rifles and is learning a lot and training hard. Even had knee surgery to better keep up with the younger members.

I'd love to find/join a local rifles organization/militia, and hope this idea comes to fruition.

I'd leave the politics alone, just be very careful to be lawful. Leaders like in a club can be elected if that's a concern.

A state law providing for the arming of the militia is great idea. This is the first time I've found fellow Minnesotans who are of like mind with me. Such a law trumps Federal gun control laws as the Federal gun control laws are 'regulation of commerce' and not militia laws. Plus a state has full concurrent power with the Federal government to arm it's militia as a state sees fit.

Americas foremost authority on militia law, Edwin Vieira, Jr, wrote an published an article on Oct. 31 about doing this. Also, in South Carolina in early 2013 bills were introduced to provide for arming it's militia as a way for no Federal gun control laws had any effect there.

I think those here of like mind should continue forward with this idea.

If you're passionate about the idea, get going on organizing. Anything worthwhile takes some effort.

Yeah, right. That's funny. You cannot try to organize something like this on your own. You would be charged with some BS organized crime attempting to overthrow these idiots. AFAIK, you have to have state government backing. When I was stationed in Texas, they had a pretty good size civilian militia.

Funny? Funny how? Some of the finest men and women in the state serve in the MNANG.

OTOH, I remember back in the 80's there was a guy who called himself Colonel Eddie who ran the "Minnesota Militia". Maybe you should look him up.
