Actually I think it matters a lot less than the media is projecting. I mean, I don't really see why it matters much whether it's Obama or Hillary or Bernie that makes the next appointment or two. Of course if the Republicans come up with a viable candidate, by raising Eisenhower from the dead or something, it might be a different story.

The Constitution center published what could change. Here's what they said on gun rights

Gun rights. A liberal replacement for Scalia might be the fifth vote to cut back on or overrule the 2008 Scalia majority opinion in District of Columbia v. Heller and subsequent Supreme Court decisions recognizing a constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

Doesn't look good

Someone would have to challenge it again for the Supreme Court to re visit it again, right?

I'm sure there are about a million left wing lawyers out there that are chomping at the bit.

Alan Gura was on gun talk discussing his thoughts on what can happen, doesn't sound good at all.

Let's win in November and get 2-3 picks from a conservative President. If that happens, the feared 5-4 split could be reversed and go 3-6 or 2-7.

Anybody watch any news (Fox news) where they had Senator Chuck Shummer (POS if there ever was one) stating in 2007 that the Dems need to block Bush on any new Supreme Court appointments and then his recent statement that the Repulicans are unconstituional if they try that tactic now? I think Hannity played both videos one after another showing how Shummer is a complete lying two faced POS.

This is the one main thing about politics that really burns my toast! The Dems can say one thing and flipflop a year or two later and no one cares. But if the Repubs do that, well then they are two faced liers and the media demands that they be punished for it. Don't get me wrong, both sides flipflop constantly...I know that, but how the media treats it really, REALLY pisses me off.

So, was Scalia murdered by the gun control lobby so they could finally get their agenda through the courts.

Let any Obama appointment go through. After all, he regrets filibustering Alito.

Careful, blocking your thoughts with tinfoil will get the anti tinfoil lobby up in arms. ......

That is entirely possible. I would not put anything past them.

What if Obama nominated a half-way acceptable candidate? Someone with a mixed record on gun control or at least not a proven anti-gunner? Confirm and at least avoid a Hillary nominee (if it came to that)?
