You're right. All we can hope to do is keep the middle either on our side or undecided. Anything resembling universal agreement will NEVER be reached on this issue any more than abortion.

From an article concerning Nancy Nord Bence in the Star Trib. Sept. 13, 2016:

...the exasperated Lutheran minister wrote on Facebook that she would be willing to leave her parish work “if someone would pay me to work in gun violence prevention,” she said.

Some Minnesotans believe gun violence is just a gang problem in urban areas, she said. But more than 82 percent of gun deaths in Minnesota are the result of suicide, she said.

After hearing her speak last night, I find it difficult to believe anything she says.

She was the singular exception to an otherwise good faith performance from the other participants.
As someone pointed out else where, she alone ran her speaking time down to the second with canned, and mostly inaccurate talking points.
Her on-stage antics when others spoke were an obvious attempt at distraction
She used every 90s BS cliche extolling the horrific dangers of 'assault weapons'...' the bullets fly faster than other guns... shooting 100 rounds in 2 mn..ad nauseam...

Thanks, Sarah Cade and Bryan Strawser for representing us, giving a great presentation and setting such a good example. Well done!

I enjoy how the police chief is the one decrying how hard it is to deprive people of civil rights.

Thank you Bryan, for all of your tireless and righteous work. Your sacrifices help every Minnesota citizen, whether they know it or not.

The only thing the above video did for me was "harden my heart" and reinforce my abject hatred for those who advocate the denial of my God given rights. I'll stop now, while my membership here at Mnguntalk is still in good standing.

You're not alone. The more I watch this presidential season and the more I listen to "progressives" talk about their "views"...the more I think that they are very seriously mentally ill!

I can absolutely assure you that they think the same (or worse) of us. Just because someone disagrees with you, don't make the mistake of underestimating their intelligence or determination to advance their cause. Dismissing them as mentally ill is a poor strategy.

I think the Left's attitude stems from the Civil Rights movement. Yes, it corrected a long-standing injustice in our society. But unfortunately, what progressives took away from it was "Shove reform down the troglodytes' throats, and to H*** with whether they like it or not". Which is more or less their attitude towards gay/transexual rights and gun control, to the point where they would happily criminalize any dissent if they could.

There's intelligent disagreement and then there's ranting lunacy. Most of what I've seen is the later, maybe because that's what makes the news cycle? :D

Thanks Randy!

I'm just one part of a broader team though -- in this case, Sarah Cade really stood up and made people listen to what she had to say. I thought she was the star of the night!

Bryan, I agree with your take on Sarah's performance. Thank you both for participating in this event and sharing the video link.
