I thought there were more duck hunters. I was incorrect on how many there are. The number is 550,000 hunters, not duck hunters by licenses sold.

'cause we need to talk about anything gun related
BTW pole and stat numbers are 90% what the writer wants them to be depending on who you're asking.....................

Seriously though, why would the feds do this? Presumably they can access state carry permit databases, can't they? Are they cross-referencing holster sales vs. permit lists to find unlicensed people who might be carrying? That seems hard to believe, since it's the legal firearm owners/users that they're after, not criminals. I don't understand the angle.

When they come to take your guns they want to make sure they have a full list of those they need to take them from.

Are you saying that they are planning to go take guns away from criminals then, as opposed to just legal firearms owners? Boy, that'd be a refreshing twist.
crbutler wrote:That they are trying to find a half arsed back door way to gun registration is wrong, but doesn’t really surprise me.
But if you are willing to make up a statistic to show that they are doing wrong, your argument looks silly.
I don’t think there is any law saying anyone, even a prohibited person or 10 year old kid, cannot buy a holster. To me, this is appropriately the grounds for congress to justify a spending cut as it’s useless information and patently a waste of government time and money… and the argument is there. If the government official says that this was an attempt to get around the gun registration law, then that person should be tried for misprision in office as the law is pretty clear- no registry.
If the left wants to change the law, that’s the appropriate way to create a database on it, and they should be allowed to run this out to the electorate, not try and create on their own.
