Urgent action needed on suppressors

Postby Jackpine Savage on Sat May 10, 2025 7:05 pm

This a video from John Crump news. There is a bill, HR 404, The Hearing Protection Act, that is having a difficult time getting out of the Ways and Means committee. Turns out Chris Cox, (still a POS), is lobbying on behalf of a private company to keep suppressors in the NFA. The committee needs to hear from people asap.

It sounds like Rep David Kustoff from Tennessee is doing Cox's bidding.

Here's Kustoff's contact info: https://kustoff.house.gov/

Can someone give me the CliffsNotes version, why it's in anyone's interest to keep suppressors NFA?

This is the only reason I can think of. There are several companies whose business model is to make it easy to go through the NFA process. They handle the fingerprints, photos, and paperwork. Silencershop for one invested money in electronic kiosks to take electronic fingerprints. All that goes away if suppressors are removed from the NFA.

Silencer Shop has said that they are not the ones doing the lobbying.

Republicans, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Spineless bastards.

Here's an interesting video from T-Rex arms. He was in DC meeting with his Tennessee senator while the games were being played in the Ways and Means committee. He suggests that it could be the ATF lobbying effort that's keeping suppressors in the NFA. The web of lies and liars in DC is absolute. But they are feeling the pressure and it's time to turn up the heat, not give up.

Paul Ryan screwed us the first go round of the Hearing Protection Act. This time it's someone else's turn. SilencerCentral and which Republicans?.

Mrgunsngear's update on the process. It's still possible. Keep up the pressure.

Frankly, I don’t see how removing the $200 really fixes things as long as it remains an NFA item.

The $200 is not that big a deal… the regulatory burden and getting mother-may-I is the bigger problem.

From what I’ve read of the posting above, it’s not removing them from the NFA. It’s just making it a free stamp.
