Metcalf: Guns & Ammo

Postby bensdad on Sun Nov 03, 2013 5:10 pm

Anybody here aware of it yet? Metcalf wrote an article for the Dec. issue of G&A that advocates 16 mandatory hours of training to get a carry permit. I'm not gonna link to their web presence.

i'll take a little time tomorrow and contact several of their advertisers. Since I haven't had a subscription to that mag in years, there's not much else I can do. Those of you who pay for it may want to consider some sort of action (cancel, call, whatever).

His opinion is essentially that regulation is not necessarily infringement. Truth about Guns had a link with tons of negative comments about it earlier today. One of the comments indicated how to cancel G&A subscriptions. (Sorry i cant post link at moment.)

Haven't read g&a in years. Not familiar with this writer. Jeff Cooper's columns were great reading, otherwise a lot pimpin' the latest and greatest as I recall.

Cooper was awesome. And yes, even the articles are just ads.

There really isn't a gun rag or blog that really tells it like it is from what Ive seen. They all say the same canned "its great!" crap so they can keep their job and/ or free crap.

Rocking the boat in a market like ours gets you solid support from a small percent of the customers....and turns the rest around the other way since they're not interested in politics.

Gun Tests is about the only one out there that doesn't accept advertising or free guns, etc

Metcalf will probably need to join the Short Bus Gun Club along with Jerry Tsai and Jim Zumbro.

I wonder if some confused, and misguided anti- gun violence types will suggest this now a !st Amendment issue.

Not quite clear on the specifics. is he anouncing his OWN replacement? If so, that's cool. If he's anouncing merely the replacement of only metcalf, then I'd call this a half-measure. Did Metcalf wear the title "editor" of some aspect of the mag.?
