Sorry to intrude on your reverie, but anything a politician does is political. Recognizing that is one of the most patriotic things an American can do.

bensdad thats a good point, military families like those do deserve the utmost respect.

but a politician, who makes his/her living off of public image, certainly has that in the back of their mind any time they make an appearance. Even if they do something 100% out of the kindness of their heart, it still affects their political image one way or the other. Can't check that burden at the door...
