Check out the quiz, I scored a Bob Dole so I guess I am not as hard core as I thought I was.

Edited to add - I hit 35 exactly.

I pretty much got a Dole also, 34. I'm ok with that. Especially when you consider the vague wording of the questions and the things that weren't asked.

Because I suspect I probably fall farther to the left than most of you--and I'm damn proud of that--I'll admit that I scored a 13, right between the president ( ) Clintons.

I agree, black and white. Just for fun anyway, at least that's what I take from it.

When I was in the Navy, Stars and Stripes newspaper had a quiz "How Radical Are You?" Well, this was in 1971, and all of the people I knew assumed that I would get a very, very high score. In fact, several people in my unit got higher scores than I did, though, according to S&S, I was pretty radical.

On this one, I was wishing there was a "none" or "neither" box to check. In my old age, I have become a political atheist--I don't believe in any of them.

As it is, I turned out to be reasonably left--which wasn't a surprise to me. Old habits die hard and one of the most difficult things to do in life is examine one's ideas and toss aside those that no longer work. This goes for one's personal life as well as politics.

I think there are a lot more liberals on here than is commonly believed. Gun rights are more of a libertarian vs authoritarian issue. The current Democratic leaders are real authoritarian liberals and very anti gun. But it is a myth that guns are purely a conservative issue. And the current "conservatives" accept the money and votes of gun owners but give only token and passive support.

Pro gunners who continually fly the conservative flag drive off a lot of pro gun people.
