Sitov said there needs to be stricter gun control measures if another tragedy is to be avoided.
If the government wanted to prevent such tragedies, one avenue is to restrict the freedom to bear arms.

This is the reason why my grandparents came to this country, to get away from the socialist idea of the government/police state knows best.
Why don't people understand that Chicago and DC are examples of gun control NOT working. Criminals don't respect laws!!!

On the surface, I have to say that this is the first time in my adult life that I actually felt on the same side of an issue as Gibbs. The fact that this was initiated by a Russian reporter should be no big surprise. Maybe he was just doing his part to plant seeds over here that we should all be disarmed. I don't care what Obama and his weak kneed state department say, Russia is not a friend.

our quarrel is not about the value of freedom per se, but stems from our opinion of our fellow men … a man’s admiration of absolute government is proportionate to the contempt he feels for those around him --Alexis de Tocqueville--

Somebody should ask that genius to explain how strict gun control laws helped with the Beslan crisis.

Oh, what a f4ing a3hole... I wish I was there to ask him if Russia does so much better with its obviously strict gun laws which only allow mass shootings to be perpetrated by police majors. Or something about his colleagues, Russian journalists, who feel so safe over there they held a rally demanding the government allow them to carry guns because too many have been killed recently.

Mr. Sitov, FOAD. ITAR-TASS DIAF.

Only in state controlled media could it be said that the 2004 Beslan and the 2002 Mosco opera raid was a success
"Mission accomplished: All terrorists were killed"
This is an example of when Govt controls the radio, TV, and internet: People just take in and repeat the official version.
