A resolution from my caucus last night

Postby plblark on Wed Feb 06, 2008 12:01 pm

Well, I got quite a few double takes and people stopping to re-read my Slow Rolled shirt. Several stopped to talk but I got the feeling they were all permit holders.

note: I have 2) XL's and 1) 2XL left. I believe the guy taking orderrs also has some extras.

Remind Governor Pawlenty of the promise he made to fix the MCPPA Reciprocity list and request him to direct the commissioner of DPS to fulfill his promise in an open and transparent manner.

I winged it. Got two comments that pegged people as permit holders and after the group split up saw 3 more permits as explanation :-)

I freelanced it with my resolution but everyone was patient and polite and there were a few questions. Had a couple people opposed to MCPPA who eventually voted for my resolution based on:

"You may not agree with the underlying issue but this resolution is about a politician keeping his word. In the end, that's the only real capital a politician has. I want this fixed, as promised, and in an open and transparent process."

well done Paul. I was wearing my slow rolled shirt at the caucus where Pawlenty was present, but I'm pretty sure that no one from his office saw it.

you didn't go up and introduce yourself? ;-)

I've heard similar resolutions were passed in various caucuses.

Being fair, mostlylurkin on TCC printed them up and Joel put together some talking points. John Caille did up a resolution and Andrew Rothman made up a PDF for people to use. Unfortunately, I didn't have internet access late enough in the day to use it :-(

Nope,by the time I got a parking place and walked the two blocks he was just finishing speaking. I wasn't expecting it to be that full.
