Dear xxxxxx,

I don't expect that you'll find any problem with my position on firearms.

I am opposed to the "big three" right now--the weapons ban, magazine regulations, and expanding background checks.

There is one proposal supported by the NRA intended to cut down on "straw purchasing" that I may support if it comes to the House floor. I don't serve on any of the committee that will initially hear legislation.

I can send a formal response to your residence as well, if you prefer.

I want to assure you I remain committed to our second amendment rights. As a sworn protector of our constitution, I am concerned about the increasing encroachment on our second amendment rights. I believe the second amendment is one of the most important rights in our country and guarantees our personal freedom. Thank you for taking the time to contact your representatives. I like the response from Senator Ruud. I like Representative Radinovich's response except for the wording "right now." I hope that he means "these are the big three issues right now" and not "I don't support these now....but could be swayed."

Or maybe it is past my bed time and I am reading too much into things.

You must live up in the Brainerd/Crosby/Aitkin area. Those are the same elected officials my parents have. It's a shame Dale Lueck was defeated, but it appears as though Radinovich may have his head screwed on straight.
